Lawyers' Charity Race Legal Run 2024: online registration open

Moscow, 8 April 2024. Today is the start of registration for the International Lawyers' Charity Race Legal Run 2024. This is a fund-raising project which, from 2014 onwards, brings together members of the professional legal community to support the fosterlings of the Podari Zhizn (Grant the Gift of Life) charity foundation and a few regional foundations.

Official races will take place in different cities in May and June. Thus, on 18 May the great race takes place in Moscow, on 8 June - in Saint Petersburg. The baton of the Legal Run marathon will be picked up in Blagoveshchensk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Rostov-on Don, Dubai, Belgrade, Murmansk, Saratov, Volgograd, in Tyumen and Limassol. For details on the exact dates and locations see the city pages on the project website. The total number of lawyers to participate the official races in 2024 is expected to be at least 5,000 persons.  

Apart from the races in the above cities, the same days will see the Global Legal Run campaign – global flash mobs of lawyers to support the Legal Run project. Since project inception, 10,000+ persons globally have taken part in the campaign.

Legal Run is a fund-raising project. The fees are collected during online registration for the race. The money goes straight to account of the project's long-standing partners - the  Podari Zhizn (Grant the Gift of Life) charity and other regional foundations. In 2014-2023, the project enabled to collect RUB 27+ million, which were used to give the required treatment to 97 severely ill children from various Russian regions and other countries. 

The races annually attract members of law firms, in-house corporate legal services, students and professors of law schools - altogether, 22,000+ lawyers from 150+ cities and 30+ countries have run their Legal Run in 2014-2023. Many get involved as members of corporate teams.

For the first time, this year in Moscow Meshchersky Park with the area of 465+ ha becomes the venue of the run. It is a perfect place for outdoor activities, offering a nice fusion of wonderful nature, breathtaking landscapes, mature infrastructure that fits seamlessly into the natural environment, and multiple sports and entertainment facilities. The route of the 5 km and 10 km race will sprawl through the green surroundings of the park – wide alleys and openings that have gained popularity among running enthusiasts.

The races become possible due to private donations and sponsor contributions by legal firms and other companies. In 2024, the project is supported in various cities by 100+ law firms, and 30+ of them have sponsored the Moscow race: Better Chance, EPAM Law, Gazpromneft Expert Solutions, Mansors, Taxology, Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners (RGD), Land Law Firm, Zabeyda & Partners Law Office, Criminal Defense Firm, ZKS Law Attorneys, AVERTA GROUP, Bartolius, Lemchik, Krupskiy and Partners, Gin and Partners, Kulik & Partners, STRIZHAK AND PARTNERS, Tax Compliance, Tomashevskaya & Partners, Benefit Litigation, White Stone Group, Lidings, Ost Legal, FTL Advisers Ltd., Kosenkov & Suvorov, Doczilla, BBNP, KIAP, UK Pomoshch.

The project is arranged by a professional squad of lawyers, marketing specialists, experts in sports events, volunteers, and others who care. The races are run pursuant to sports protocols, in compliance with all the rules and standards of sports events. 3000+ people have worked over the Legal Run project in various years.
